A comforting fusion of mac and cheese and lasagna, combining creamy cheese sauce with layered pasta.
Ingredients
- 1 lb elbow macaroni
- 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 2 cups milk
- 3 tbsp butter
- 3 tbsp flour
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp black pepper
- 9 lasagna noodles, cooked
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Cook macaroni according to package instructions, drain.
- Melt butter in a saucepan, whisk in flour to make a roux.
- Gradually add milk, stirring until the sauce thickens.
- Add cheddar, mozzarella, and Parmesan cheeses, stir until melted.
- Mix the cheese sauce with cooked macaroni.
- Layer lasagna noodles and macaroni mixture in a baking dish.
- Bake for 25 minutes or until bubbly and golden.
Notes
- Let the dish rest for 5 minutes before serving.
- Add breadcrumbs on top for extra crunch.
