Description
A quick and easy sloppy joe biscuit casserole that combines the classic flavors of sloppy joes with a biscuit topping for a comforting meal.
Ingredients
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 can (15 oz) sloppy joe sauce
- 1 can (16.3 oz) refrigerated biscuits
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1/2 cup diced onion
- 1/2 cup diced green bell pepper
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
- In a skillet, cook ground beef, onion, and bell pepper over medium heat until beef is browned. Drain excess fat.
- Stir in sloppy joe sauce, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Simmer for 5 minutes.
- Spread the beef mixture evenly in a greased 9×13-inch baking dish.
- Top with shredded cheddar cheese.
- Separate biscuits and place them on top of the cheese layer.
- Bake for 15-20 minutes or until biscuits are golden brown.
- Let cool for 5 minutes before serving.
Notes
- For a spicier version, add 1/2 tsp of red pepper flakes.
- Use turkey or chicken instead of beef for a lighter option.
- Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
