Description
A simple and flavorful rice dish seasoned with herbs.
Ingredients
- 1 cup long-grain rice
- 2 cups water or broth
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 1 tsp dried thyme
- 1 tsp dried rosemary
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp black pepper
- 1 small onion, finely chopped
- 1 clove garlic, minced
Instructions
- Rinse the rice under cold water until the water runs clear.
- Heat olive oil in a pot over medium heat.
- Add onion and garlic, sauté until soft.
- Add rice, thyme, rosemary, salt, and pepper. Stir for 1 minute.
- Pour in water or broth and bring to a boil.
- Reduce heat to low, cover, and simmer for 15 minutes.
- Remove from heat and let sit covered for 5 minutes.
- Fluff with a fork before serving.
Notes
- Use fresh herbs if available for better flavor.
- Adjust salt to taste.
- For extra richness, substitute butter for olive oil.
