Description
A flavorful dish combining shrimp and rice with spices.
Ingredients
- 1 lb shrimp, peeled and deveined
- 2 cups long-grain rice
- 4 cups chicken broth
- 1 onion, diced
- 1 bell pepper, diced
- 2 celery stalks, diced
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tsp paprika
- 1 tsp cayenne pepper
- 1 tsp thyme
- 2 tbsp vegetable oil
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Heat oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
- Add onion, bell pepper, celery, and garlic. Cook until softened.
- Stir in rice, paprika, cayenne, and thyme. Cook for 2 minutes.
- Pour in chicken broth and bring to a boil.
- Reduce heat, cover, and simmer for 20 minutes.
- Add shrimp and cook until pink, about 5 minutes.
- Season with salt and pepper.
- Serve hot.
Notes
- Use fresh shrimp for best flavor.
- Adjust cayenne pepper for desired spice level.
- Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
