Description
A creamy, healthy cheese sauce for fries that’s rich in flavor and easy to make.
Ingredients
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1/2 cup milk (dairy or plant-based)
- 1 tbsp butter or olive oil
- 1 tbsp all-purpose flour
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp black pepper
- 1/4 tsp garlic powder
- 1/4 tsp onion powder
- 1/4 tsp paprika (optional)
Instructions
- Heat butter or oil in a saucepan over medium heat.
- Add flour and whisk until smooth.
- Gradually pour in milk while whisking to prevent lumps.
- Cook for 2-3 minutes until slightly thickened.
- Reduce heat to low and stir in shredded cheese until fully melted.
- Mix in salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, and paprika.
- Stir until smooth and creamy.
- Remove from heat and serve warm over fries.
Notes
- Use fresh cheese for best texture.
- Adjust thickness by adding more milk if needed.
- Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
