A healthier twist on the classic Reuben sandwich, baked in a crescent roll crust for a comforting Thanksgiving dish.
Ingredients
- 1 can (8 oz) refrigerated crescent rolls
- 1/2 lb thinly sliced turkey pastrami
- 1 cup sauerkraut, drained
- 1 cup shredded Swiss cheese
- 1/4 cup thousand island dressing (light)
- 1 tsp caraway seeds (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Unroll crescent dough and press into a greased 9-inch pie plate.
- Layer turkey pastrami, sauerkraut, and cheese over dough.
- Drizzle with thousand island dressing and sprinkle caraway seeds.
- Bake for 20-25 minutes until crust is golden.
- Let cool 5 minutes before slicing.
Notes
- For extra crunch, toast the crescent roll crust for 5 minutes before adding toppings.
- Substitute corned beef for pastrami if preferred.
- Use dairy-free cheese for a lactose-free version.
