Ingredients
- 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
- 1 cup milk
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
Instructions
- Melt butter in a saucepan over medium heat.
- Whisk in flour and cook for 1 minute.
- Slowly add milk while whisking to avoid lumps.
- Cook until the mixture thickens, about 3 minutes.
- Reduce heat to low and stir in shredded cheese until melted.
- Season with salt, pepper, and garlic powder.
- Remove from heat and serve warm.

- For a spicier sauce, add a pinch of cayenne pepper.
