Description
Crispy, gooey mozzarella sticks made easily in your air fryer with minimal oil for a healthier snack.
Ingredients
- 8 mozzarella string cheese sticks
- 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
- 2 eggs, beaten
- 1 cup panko breadcrumbs
- 1/2 tsp garlic powder
- 1/2 tsp Italian seasoning
- Cooking spray
Instructions
- Cut each mozzarella stick in half for shorter sticks or leave whole.
- Set up three bowls: one with flour, one with beaten eggs, and one with breadcrumbs mixed with garlic powder and Italian seasoning.
- Coat each mozzarella stick in flour, then dip in egg, then roll in breadcrumbs. Repeat egg and breadcrumb steps for extra crispiness.
- Place coated sticks in the air fryer basket, leaving space between them. Lightly spray with cooking spray.
- Air fry at 390°F for 5-6 minutes or until golden brown and cheese is melted. Serve immediately with marinara sauce.
Notes
- Freeze coated sticks for 20 minutes before air frying to prevent cheese from leaking.
- Use low-moisture mozzarella for best results.
