Ingredients

  • 1 lb lean ground beef
  • 1 onion, diced
  • 1 green bell pepper, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup marinara sauce
  • 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1/2 tsp paprika
  • 4 whole wheat buns
  • 1/2 cup low-fat mozzarella cheese
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 1 tsp garlic powder


Instructions

  1. Brown ground beef in a skillet over medium heat
  2. Add onion, bell pepper, and garlic. Cook until soft
  3. Stir in marinara sauce, Worcestershire sauce, and spices. Simmer for 5 minutes
  4. Toast buns with butter and garlic powder
  5. Fill buns with beef mixture and top with cheese
  6. Broil for 1 minute until cheese melts
