Description
A healthier twist on classic orange chicken with a spicy kick and fresh flavors.
Ingredients
- 2 boneless, skinless chicken breasts, cubed
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 1/2 cup fresh orange juice
- 2 tbsp low-sodium soy sauce
- 1 tbsp honey
- 1 tsp red pepper flakes
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tsp ginger, grated
- 1 tbsp cornstarch
- 2 tbsp water
- 1 orange, sliced for garnish
- 1 tbsp sesame seeds
Instructions
- Heat olive oil in a pan over medium-high heat.
- Add chicken cubes and cook until browned (5-6 minutes).
- In a bowl, mix orange juice, soy sauce, honey, red pepper flakes, garlic, and ginger.
- Pour sauce over chicken and simmer for 3 minutes.
- Blend cornstarch and water, then stir into the pan to thicken the sauce.
- Cook for another 2 minutes until glossy.
- Garnish with orange slices and sesame seeds.
Notes
- For extra spice, add more red pepper flakes.
- Swap honey for maple syrup if preferred.
- Serve over brown rice or quinoa.
