A healthier twist on classic orange chicken with a spicy kick and fresh flavors.


Ingredients

  • 2 boneless, skinless chicken breasts, cubed
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1/2 cup fresh orange juice
  • 2 tbsp low-sodium soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp honey
  • 1 tsp red pepper flakes
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp ginger, grated
  • 1 tbsp cornstarch
  • 2 tbsp water
  • 1 orange, sliced for garnish
  • 1 tbsp sesame seeds


Instructions

  1. Heat olive oil in a pan over medium-high heat.
  2. Add chicken cubes and cook until browned (5-6 minutes).
  3. In a bowl, mix orange juice, soy sauce, honey, red pepper flakes, garlic, and ginger.
  4. Pour sauce over chicken and simmer for 3 minutes.
  5. Blend cornstarch and water, then stir into the pan to thicken the sauce.
  6. Cook for another 2 minutes until glossy.
  7. Garnish with orange slices and sesame seeds.

Notes

  • For extra spice, add more red pepper flakes.
  • Swap honey for maple syrup if preferred.
  • Serve over brown rice or quinoa.
